“I know a lot of Not Other Girls. We feed each other in our exclusive club meetings where we analyze the things that Other Girls “complain” about. It’s our own secret golf courses of business deals where we all woefully accept the landscape of being a woman and agree that the reason we’ve navigated it as intact as we have is because we are better, faster, stronger than the rest who couldn’t slog through the mire. We ape the patriarchy we’ve been raised in, trading back and forth congratulatory stories of being more cunning than the rest. We’re Varsity Women; we’re Bad Bitches. We didn’t let men bring us down and we sure as hell didn’t bring women along to slow us on the trudge. We make it so easy for women to fail the movement and they fail the movement by not being privileged or as “streetwise” as us. That isn’t their failing. It’s the failing of Not Other Girls for not helping Other Girls. Being a woman with Toxic Masculinity means I still ultimately value the colonization and capitalistic takeover of patriarchy.”
